When I was five years old, I decided I would learn how to tie my shoes. Everyday, my parents would ask me if they could just teach me how, so I'd learn more quickly, and everyday, I stubbornly refused. So yeah, my independence is pretty important to me. I did eventually learn how to tie my shoes all by myself, and I apply that determination to other parts of my life now. I hope that I can make a difference in the world someday, and right now, I think I want to do that by becoming a doctor. I love learning and growing, and discovering things for myself. I'm an avid yogi, a pluviophile (so it's a good thing I live in Seattle!), and a lover of cats and succulents.
