OUR PHILANTHROPY

The National Philanthropy of Sigma Psi Zeta is to combat violence against womxn in its varied forms. This includes, but is not by any means limited to the following: r*pe, incest, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, exploitation, the trafficking of womxn and children, the abuse of migrant workers, intimidation at work, child abuse, harassment, and spousal abuse.

Through our combined individual and group efforts, we have demonstrated a commitment to education and cultural unity. Our annual Step Out Against Domestic Violence event uses the power of step and stroll to raise awareness of domestic violence and generate financial support for organizations combating violence against womxn.

Our partner, API Chaya, is an agency created by survivors and for survivors from marginalized communities. Every year, the Rho Chapter partners with API Chaya for our Step Out Against Domestic Violence event to raise awareness and to raise money for API Chaya to continue the work that they do for survivors.

API Chaya empowers survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking to gain safety, connection, and wellness. We build power by educating and mobilizing South Asian, Asian, Pacific Islander, and all immigrant communities to end exploitation, creating a world where all people can heal and thrive.
